The Prophet salla Allahu alayhi wasallam said, “None of you will truly believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself” [Bukhari and Muslim]. Our love for others is not only to love for them the aspects of this dunya (good health, security, prosperity, etc.), but to also love for them the most dear aspects to our hearts regarding the deen: to have firm belief, to stay away from sin, to earn reward, to enter jannah. Our love for others encourages us to give them advice, to advise them to wear hijab, to call them to all aspects of Islam. What ways can you think of to show your love for your brother, for your sister? And when was the last time you manifested this love?

Beauty is subjective. To me, my hijab is my beauty. It instills the confidence in me that I need to represent my religion. It allows others to recognize me as a respectable woman. It implants humility and modesty in me. It brings contentment to my heart, because I know I am following the command of my Lord. I feel precious, honoured, unique, and BEAUTIFUL in my hijab. Changing rooms have a bit of a “reputation” between us Muslims as places to slip in and pray while out and about at the mall. The other day, I was with a sister – and in some stores, they have small white boards on the doors of the changing rooms they write your name on. We decided to put them to a different “use.” Usually, whenever we have a chance, we write something like “Islam is the TRUTH!” or “WHYISLAM.org” anywhere, like in guest books at museums.
