Thank you to everyone who’s stopped by in the last few months, sending us emails and messages, wondering where we’ve gone. We’re sorry for dropping off so suddenly without any new posts. But after 3+ years of blogging on hijab, we’ve decided to take a break. At the moment, we’re taking a step back to assess where IGIC stands in terms of its goals, and to think about where we want to go next.

Ramadan has returned, bringing with it memories of iman-filled days, nights of prayer, hunger for the sake of Allah, charity in abundance, hearts alive and buzzing with the recitation of the Qur’an. Although IGIC is a blog dedicated to hijab and the stories of our sisters — and we hope to always remain true to this goal — we’ve decided to do things a little differently for Ramadan this year. We’re taking a break from our regular posting on hijab stories for this month.

Taking a break. We’ll be back insha’Allah.

The last ten nights are here, and as the doors of Allah’s mercy and forgiveness are wide open, we’re preparing to take a break from our regular posting activities at IGIC. Our advice to everyone is to do the same – to spend time away from the internet, and to give as much time as possible to the worship of Allah. Make i’tikaaf if possible, for all ten nights or as many as you can. Pour your heart and soul into the coming days, into your du’aa and prayer and hope in Allah. The last ten nights are here, and Laylat al-Qadr could be any night, including tonight.
