At the Gates of Ramadan

Allahu akbar!

Ramadan has returned, bringing with it memories of iman-filled days, nights of prayer, hunger for the sake of Allah, charity in abundance, hearts alive and buzzing with the recitation of the Qur’an.

Although IGIC is a blog dedicated to hijab and the stories of our sisters — and we hope to always remain true to this goal — we’ve decided to do things a little differently for Ramadan this year. We’re taking a break from our regular posting on hijab stories for this month.

Instead, we’re doing a series that we’ve titled “This Ramadan…” It’s a list of goals and resolutions, things we wanted to work on to make this Ramadan our best ever, insha’Allah. We hope that you’ll find the series uplifting and inspiring, and we pray that you’ll find the strength and courage to transform your life during this month — and beyond — for the better.

We hope you’ll take some time to chart out your own goals for the month: Write down your du’aa list, and a list of things you want to accomplish daily. Take inspiration from other people’s lists, and use a chart (your own, or a pre-prepared one) to help you keep track of your progress.

Whether you join us for the month, or find other ways to reap the season’s blessings, we ask Allah ta’ala to make this Ramadan the best yet, for you and for us.

Ramadan Mubarak, everyone!
