My Banner

4

A poem by guest writer Sara.

My Banner

The banner I hold
Is wrapped around my head,
Draped across my body
Loosely bound, wherever I tread

The banner I hold
Is intricately woven
In my speech and words
Their message golden

The banner I hold
Calls to liberation
For a people oppressed
By self-dictation

The banner I hold
Is Divinely inspired
Recorded in the Book
And through faith acquired

The banner I hold
Is not meant to deceive
Rather, its purpose
For my Lord to please
