Hijab?

The infamous question and the all too seldom-heard answer. So the next time someone asks you, ‘Why do you wear the hijab?’ let us take it back to tawheed (Oneness of God) and reply, ‘Because God told me so.’ Explanation and discussion, of course, can always follow.

    I always used to answer, “its a form of modesty, its my protection, etc.”, but really all these things come afterwords. As muslim women, we don the hijab because Allah (sw) commanded us to do so, all these amazing things (protection, being recognized as a Muslim women and not being bothered, etc) come after we follow the command.
