The line about the Sikh boy being proud of his faith was truly shattering, and I think so many of us can relate to the sentiments -- of having not been as proud of our Islam, whether through the hijab or something else, as we should have been. May Allah keep us firm upon His path.

And jazaki Allahu khayran sister Heba for sharing your story with us -- we'd love to hear from you again sometime!

I also love that very simple line: "I worship Allah and so I am proud."

masha Allah. Nice story. Allah subhaana wa ta'aala gives us strength from where we least expect, sometimes.

“Look at him, Heba, all proud of his faith. But you worship Allah, and you aren’t proud of yours.”

I love that line.

As long as I can remember, I wore the hijab. At home, at school. It was a little easier because there were other Muslims at my school, mainly other family members. But I never really understood the meaning of hijab or embraced it until a few years ago. So for most of my life, I wore it just because my parents told me to and never really taught me how to or why we do it. And reading this story has once again reminded me of those reasons, and makes me feel even more confident in wearing my hijab.

Jazaki Allahu khairan, Sister Heba. I hope this story has inspired and reminded others the way it did me.
